| How To Measure |
|
|
|
| |
Take a moment, step back, and take a look at the window. Determine whether it would look best as an inside mount or an outside mount. Generally an inside mount is preferred as it produces the neatest appearance.
Use a metal tape measure to measure the window. Completely measure one window at a time. |
| |
| Inside Mount |
| |
Measure the width first. Measure in 3 places (top, middle, and bottom) and write down the smallest measure. Round the measurement down to the nearest 1/8”; this is the width you will order. Our factory will make the necessary deductions for a good fit. Note! The top measurement is critical as the headrail must fit.
Measure the height from the top inside edge to the window sill, and write down the measurement, rounding up to the next largest 1/8” measure.
Measure all windows even if they appear to be the same size. |

| Outside Mount |
| |
Measure the width to the outside of the trim. You may want to add 2 inches to each side to make sure you get good light control, and because this will likely produce the most finished look. There is no rule on how wide to make the blinds other than to make sure you measure to provide the desired overlap.
Measure the height. Again, it is probably wise to add 4 inches to the height as the headrail will likely be mounted above the window, and you will want the make sure the blind at least covers the bottom trim. |

| Reminders |
| |
- Do always measure the exact window intended for the blind. Each window opening is unique.
- Do always use a steel tape measure.
- Do measure the width and write it down, then measure the height and write it down.
- Do measure to the nearest 1/8”
- Don’t take any deductions! If it is an inside mount, our factory will take the necessary deductions. If it is an outside mount our factory will make it exactly that size.
